Justin Timberlake’s career spans over 25 years — a feat that may lead him to the headline the Super Bowl Halftime show next year. And in that time, the former N’SYNC member has undoubtedly influenced many artists. This includes Temporary Hero, another blue-eyed soul singer who just dropped a 10-track LP, Indigo.
Temporary Hero’s sultry voice fill up the chill, upbeat vibes on the LP, which he recorded mostly on St. Croix and U.S. Virgin Islands. Standout tracks include the eponymous track where the songbird exudes that he “feels so brand new” over cheery claps and drum sounds as well as the romantic “Can I Kiss You Now?” which is based on a true story, according to Temporary Hero. “I’m not used to someone chasing after me / I guess that you have more courage than I do,” he sings before asking his love interest if he can kiss her now, and again the next day.
While the project is mostly strong, tracks like “Something More Than Paradise” feel a bit repetitive in sound while other tracks seem cliche which suggests that it might have served better as a shorter LP.
But overall, Indigo, is an enjoyable project that’s bound to make you want to run off to the islands and dance with a special someone. Stream it below.
