“Santa Stole Our Dog: A Merry Doggone Christmas!” follows a family who begins an epic journey through the twelve days of Christmas to the North Pole to get their beloved dog back, who was accidentally stolen by Santa Claus. Chase plays lead character Tommy alongside iconic actor Ed Asner, who plays Santa. The film is set for release on DVD, digital platforms, and On-Demand on December 5, 2017.
What does Christmas mean to you?
Christmas to me means family! My Mum is Australian and my Dad is American, so our Christmas is a blend of cultures that includes great, fun, food and a lot of laughter! We have Christmas plum pudding as one of our desserts every year as my mum couldn’t live without it. No one else in the family likes it. LOL. We also have the whole extended family over on Christmas Eve and celebrate Christmas day with the immediate family!
Tell me about your film “Santa Stole Our Dog: A Merry Doggone Christmas!”. What role do you play?
In “Santa Stole Our Dog”, I play one of the lead roles Tommy. Tommy is a 13-year-old boy struggling with his parents’ divorce who doesn’t really believe in Santa. His Dad gives him and Susie, his little sister, a dog for Christmas to cheer them up and the adventure begins from there! It was really fun shooting when I was on set with all of the cast and crew as we all became a family!
What was it like working with such an iconic actor like Ed Asner?
Working with Ed Asner was amazing. It was awesome being on set with him. He was hilarious. He was also really helpful giving me tons of tips about acting and the industry.
You will next be seen in the short film “Mount Liptak”. What is the film about?
“Mount Liptak”, my next film, is the story of the underaged servicemen in WWII. I play the role of Lester Liptack, based on a true story, who was 15 when he enrolled in World War II and the film is his story!
Did you do research for your role in “Mount Liptak”?
Yes, I did a lot of research on Lester Liptak, so that I could understand his character and any of his idiosyncrasies. It was most helpful that the director, Ryan Allsop, is his nephew, so I was able to get information and photographs directly from him.
If you could pick a dream acting role, what would it be?
I really love dramatic roles. I love a lot of what Leonardo Dicaprio has done and his career path.
Besides acting, you enjoying playing the guitar and singing, who is your favorite artist or group?
My favorite artists are Logic and Post Malone.
Do you have a New Year’s resolution?
My New Year’s resolutions are to land some other great projects and to eat healthier.
