R. Kelly was arrested Thursday night in Chicago on sex trafficking charges.
According to CBS Chicago, New York police and federal agents arrested him in his hometown. His publicist said a press conference would be held Friday morning where more information will be made available.
Back in May, the singer was charged with 11 counts of sexual assault, which were more serious than the charges that were brought against in February.
Last month, he attended a court hearing where he pleaded not guilty.
The charges brought against him in May followed earlier allegations that he sexually four women, three of which were allegedly minors.
The latest charges are focused on one of the alleged victims, who is being identified as JP.
The charges reportedly include, “aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, and aggravated criminal sex abuse.”
According to the station, four of the aggravated criminal sex assault charges are identified as class X felonies, and reportedly carry a prison sentence up to 30 years if he is convicted.
Earlier this year, Lifetime aired a three-night documentary where many accusers came forward and accused the singer.
