Nicki Minaj is currently visiting her home island of Trinidad and Tobago. She recently participated in a number of the carnival festivities, but apart from that, she is additionally giving back during a major way.
On Thursday, she made a visit to the St. Jude’s Home for women, and while giving the women some advice and encouragement, she also revealed that she would be donating $25,000.
She said, “I came to urge ideas and you guys gave me tons of great ideas on creating a building here in Trinidad where children can attend and have recreational fun.”
Aside from that, Nicki also opened up to the women and shared a number of her past experiences, including witnessing violence, and being at a difficult crossroads when she was an adolescent.
She continued to mention, “If you’ve got to use my life as a lesson and therefore the incontrovertible fact that there’s always better days ahead.”
Nicki who was born in Trinidad spent a couple of years living on the island before her family relocated to Queens, NY, where she was raised.
Prior to her visit to the house, Nicki shared some videos and photos of her time at Carnival as she expressed her pride in being Trinidadian.
On Wednesday, Nicki apologized to her fans on behalf of her husband, Kenneth Petty. a number of her fans became upset because Kenneth was spotted moving Soca star, Iwer’s hand out of the way as they were on a float during the carnival celebration.
