Tyler Perry wants to look further into the passing of his nephew who allegedly hung himself in prison, as he deems his death to be suspicious.
Tyler has hired a famous doctor to try to do another autopsy on his nephew, 26-year-old Gavin Porter, who was serving a 20-year sentence for shooting and killing his dad in front of his mother (Tyler’s sister). Gavin was found Tuesday night hanging in his cell from a bed sheet, according to TMZ.
One of the explanations Tyler is suspicious about his nephew’s death is because Gavin got into a fight with another inmate last weekend and was then placed in solitary.
“Call me naive, but it was my hope that after serving his time, really reflecting, showing much remorse, and asking God for forgiveness, that he would have been able to come work for me,” said Perry. “Where he would join all the other former inmates that work for me and turn his life around, just as they have. But that day will never come.”
Tyler said he has hired Dr. Michael Baden, a famed pathologist who has been involved in numerous cases, including that of former president John F. Kennedy, O.J. Simpson, and Jeffrey Epstein.
“I want to be clear that we aren’t a family of conspiracy theorists and need to believe that there was no evil even as the sheriff said publicly,” Tyler said on why he wanted the second autopsy to be conducted.
