Aside from doing her thing on American Idol, Katy Perry was apparently able to keep her personal life under wraps and that she’s expecting a baby.
Katy was on Instagram and dropped a clip from her new video for her song “Never Worn White” and she had a baby bump.
The revelation of her pregnancy might get fans shocked but she confirmed that this was no gag. She has her first baby on the way with fiance Orlando Bloom. Evidently, the song is a nod to Katy’s fears of commitment, but at the same time, she is singing about her readiness for a life of happiness with another person.
“Cause I’ve never worn white/But I wanna get it right/Yeah, I really wanna try with you,” the lyrics go. “No, I’ve never worn white/But I’m standin’ here tonight/Cause I really wanna say ‘I do.’”
Katy confirmed her pregnancy during an IG Live after the music video premiered on YouTube saying it is “probably the longest secret” she’s ever had to keep, according to a report.
“I’m late,” Katy said after promising she’d be on Instagram Live after the video dropped. “But you already knew that.”
Katy said her due date is sometime this summer.
“There’s a lot that will be happing this summer, not only will I be giving birth — literally — but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for,” Katy said, referring to her upcoming album.
Katy got engaged to Orlando Bloom on Valentine’s Day 2019. He has a 9-year-old son with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.
