A New York man gets arrested after he shot his girlfriend in the leg. While reaching for his wallet, he accidentally fired off his gun and at a local restaurant.
A report says that Anthony Ciccarelli of Tonawanda, 19 years of age, reached for the front pocket of his pants while receiving a bill in Texas De Brazil around 6 p.m. on March 5. The gun in his pocket accidentally went off while trying to pay for the bill and hit his girlfriend in the upper right leg.
After a further investigation, Cheektowaga Police said in a report that the gun was actually stolen from an owner in Niagra Falls.
Shortly after the incident, Ciccarelli and his girlfriend left the restaurant and drove into a parking lot so she could contact 911. Luckily, non-life threatening injuries were incurred according to the EMT. As for Ciccarelli, however, he was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment.
He was arraigned on Friday before the Cheektowaga Town Justice and faces seven years in prison if convicted for the crime. His felony hearing is scheduled for March 11.
