Previous reports say that Kenneth Petty was arrested due to allegedly not registering as a sex offender in California, had those charges in Los Angeles.
Furthermore, one of Kenneth Petty’s sex cases has been able to get dismissed. Despite that, he still faces similar federal charges. A hearing in L.A. court where prosecutors apparently told a judge that they were dropping the case against him.
Although that may seem like good news for Kenny, a rep for the D.A.’s office stated that “The case was dismissed today because he is facing a similar charge in federal court.”
If convicted, Kenneth Petty faces up to 10 years in the slammer. We’ll keep you posted on this story Roommates.
“Kenneth Petty was in federal custody Wednesday — we’re told he turned himself into the Marshals. According to court docs, he’ll face a judge later today. Petty moved to California in July 2019, but according to law enforcement he got pulled over in Beverly Hills in November and that’s when his legal troubles started.
This arrest allegedly stems from a traffic stop that happened on November 15, 2019. At that time, Beverly Hills PD realized that he wasn’t registered as a sex offender in California, which is required of him, and he was therefore arrested. He was soon after released on $20K bond. However, the L.A. County D.A. charged him for failing to register as a sex offender.
