Krispy Kreme is giving the class of 2020 graduates a reason to wear their caps and gowns even if they can’t use it down the aisle.
The company famous for their donuts has just announced it will be giving away a “Graduate Dozen” to high school or college seniors who show up to any location wearing their caps and gowns, or “Class of 2020” gear.
“We feel for all of the high school and college seniors,” Krispy Kreme chief marketing officer Dave Skena said in a statement. “We wish they had that moment of walking across the stage and getting their diploma. We can’t replace that… but we thought we could help them safely have a little fun and enjoy a special ‘Graduate Dozen’ on us.”
Locations are asking that graduates show up with a 2020 tassel hanging from their caps to claim the free box of donuts that’s only available to be claimed on Tuesday, May 19. If students don’t have a cap and gown, they also have the option to bring in a student ID showing their senior status.
The Graduate Dozen includes an assortment of classic Krispy Kreme donuts including, chocolate iced Kreme filled, strawberry iced Kreme filled, cake batter filled, chocolate iced with sprinkles, strawberry iced with sprinkles, and yellow iced original glazed doughnuts.
So far, thousands of seniors have rushed to KK locations to claim their free box, and the doughnut giant has released a statement to the class of 2020 saying:
“Hello, Class of 2020! You all are awesome… and so is your response to our offer today for free Graduate Dozens. Due to your incredible response, our shops are experiencing extremely high traffic. We are doing out best to deliver a free dozen to every one of you who visits.”
Krispy Kreme is also giving the option for family members and friends to send a 2020 Graduate Dozen to their special grad in their lives
