Georgia State Police shut down one of 2 Chainz’ Atlanta lounges, Escobar Restaurant & Tapas, on Monday night (May 25) over COVID-19 violations.
After state police visited the hot spot and “noticed that the location was rather loud, busy, and occupied to be operating as a restaurant at that time of night,” the “I’m Different” rapper was forced to close his popular joint last night
From videos posted to the restaurant’s official Instagram account via stories, the police weren’t too far off from their reports, as the place was packed out with people dancing, ordering bottle service, smoking hookah — completely ignoring all social distancing guidelines and the state’s new dine-in patron limit.
In April, we reported that the rapper would not reopen his restaurants for dine-in service amid quarantine after claiming he would. However, since the Governor loosened lockdown restrictions — allowing dine-in service to 10 patrons max per table and to patrons inside per 300 square feet — it appears he’s changed his mind again.
