Amid rising COVID-19 cases and Americans prepare for another lockdown, the White House is planning holiday parties!
The White House will hold indoor holiday receptions in the coming weeks.
According to an invitation obtained by ABC News, First Lady Melania is already set to throw a holiday reception a few days later on Nov. 30. Stephanie Grisham, Spokeswoman and chief of staff, said in an announcement on Sunday that the White House parties will take place in “the safest environment possible” and noted a series of planned precautions.
“Guests will enjoy food individually plated by chefs at plexiglass-protected food stations,” Grisham added. “All passed beverages will be covered. All service staff will wear masks and gloves to comply with food-safety guideline.”
Melania received the official White House Christmas tree on Monday, and the building already has been bedecked with wreath. The 18 foot tall Fraser Fir from West Virginia will be decorated and displayed in the Blue Room of the White House for this holiday season.
Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the “safest choice” is to celebrate “virtually or with the people you live with.”
If Americans do host a gathering, they should eat outside and limit the number of guests, according to the CDC.
