Southside, real name Joshua Luellen, was arrested in Aventura on Sunday. He was later released after posting a bond of $5,500.
Southside was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and knowingly driving with a revoked license, according to NBC 6 Miami’s story.
After seeing him drive with a “heavily tinted window,” an officer pulled over his Mercedes SUV. His driver’s license had been suspended since May 2019, according to records.
He had two fully loaded handguns on him at the time of the arrest, one between his shoes and the other on the floorboard behind the passenger seat, according to the article. His concealed weapons permit was also revoked for unexplained reasons, according to documents.
“I informed Joshua that he was in violation of his CCW permit by keeping the weapons within reach and not locked in the glove box or encased in a box inside the vehicle,” the officer wrote in the arrest report.
Southside has stayed quiet about the arrest at this time.
G Herbo, Meek Mill, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Future, and a slew of other artists have enlisted his help in the studio. Southside is also well-known for his friendship with City Girls rapper Yung Miami, with whom he has a one-year-old daughter.
