A recent survey of facial plastic surgeons revealed that 70% of them said they have seen an increase in business during COVID-19, and 90% of those respondents reported an increase of 10% or higher.
The COVID-19 lockdown unexpectedly led to an increase in the number of plastic surgeries over the last few months. People now have the ability to recover from their surgery while working from home. Daily Zoom video calls are also making people feel insecure about their faces.
With that in mind, here are the most popular procedures during the pandemic, according to the survey results.
Rhinoplasty
A resounding 78% of surgeons reported an increase in rhinoplasty over the last few months, with a record number of people looking to get the nose job they have always wanted.

Facelifts
Facelifts were up a reported 69%, as people took advantage of this opportunity to shave a few years off of their appearance.
Despite the many non-surgical anti-aging procedures that have hit the market in recent years, the facelift has consistently remained one of the most popular plastic surgeries in North America, with well over 123,000 successful procedures in 2019. The total number of facelifts actually grew by 2% between 2018 and 2019, with an even bigger jump expected when the final 2020 numbers are tallied.
Eyelifts
Facial surgeons reported a 65% increase in eyelifts over the last few months.
This is the go-to surgery for people looking to deal with the age lines around their eyes, as well as any skin sagging or puffiness. The eyes basically set the tone for the entire face, and any sagging or drooping around the eyes can make you look older and more fatigued than you actually feel.
An expertly performed eyelift can tighten the loose skin and restore a youthful vibrancy in the area. This helps the patient look younger and more vibrant.
Neck Lifts
Daily video calls have given countless people the opportunity to really notice the signs of aging or weight gain showing up in their chin and neck areas. This is why 58% of surgeons reported an increase in neck lifts.
This could take the form of:
· Double chin
· Jowls
· Turkey neck
· Any other type of sagging or drooping
The neck lift gives the patient a more defined jawline area, helping them look younger and healthier.
