Dave Bautista has a new Netflix project in the works, but it’s likely to be a lot less action-packed than Army Of The Dead. The Guardians of the Galaxy star is said to have landed a part alongside Daniel Craig in the Knives Out sequel, which has been picked up by Netflix.
According to Deadline, Bautista will play an undisclosed part in the whodunit sequel, in which Craig will reprise his amazing southern accent. That’s pretty much everything we know about Rian Johnson’s project right now.
Other than Craig returning to solve another mystery involving a large cast of suspects, plot specifics are undisclosed at this time. It’s also unclear who Bautista will portray in the film. In Greece, production will begin this summer.
Best known for his action-packed roles in films such as Guardians Of The Galaxy and the upcoming Army Of The Dead, Bautista’s latest role should provide him with some enjoyable scenery to chew on, particularly because Johnson’s first Knives Out script was full of amusing characters and snappy dialogue.
Unless that miserable family has another house and wealth to battle for elsewhere in New England, the star-studded cast of the first film seems unlikely to return beyond Craig. Which means that someone has to wear an improbably comfortable-looking sweater in order to make this a true sequel, and we proudly nominate Bautista for the gig. What we do know, though, is that he will be extremely unlikely to play a Nazi child spending long scenes in a downstairs bathroom. You know, probably not anyway.
