Yaya Mayweather is speaking out about her former relationship with NBA YoungBoy just a week before her next court appearance in her assault case. Yaya was arrested at his Houston home at the start of the pandemic for reportedly stabbing a woman over YoungBoy. Lapattra Lashai Jacobs was with YoungBoy in his home in April 2020 when Yaya allegedly walked in and told Lapattra that she was his fiancee and that she wanted to leave.
After the two women got into an altercation, Yaya is accused of taking two knives and stabbing Lapattra. Yaya is charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Lapattra has spoken out about the incident since it occurred, focusing on her recovery. On Monday, a recent clip from an Instagram live she did showed her discussing her actual relationship with YoungBoy, which raised some eyebrows. Because of his young age, she implied that NBA YoungBoy doesn’t take his relationships seriously.
“He’s still young so, he ain’t ready to settle down,” Lapattra said. “In my mind, and I know ‘cause I’m older than him, so I know a young person not ready to settle down. Really not ready to settle down like actually settle down.”Then she moved on to talk about their friendship, which she admitted was put to the test and eventually ended because of her supposed battle with Yaya Mayweather.
“Like, we still would have been low-key if this s**t wouldn’t have happened to me,” Lapattra said. You can watch Lapattra talk about NBA YoungBoy below: Since the incident, Yaya Mayweather has given birth to her, and YoungBoy’s son, Kentrell Gaulden Jr. Yaya’s attorney is expected to be back before a judge next week for another hearing in her case. She has pleaded not guilty to the attack.
