Cruel Summer (Freeform, 9:00 pm) — This relatively new series is set in the 1990s and chronicles the aftermath of a popular teen’s disappearance. Things get a little unusual when an apparently unrelated quiet kid becomes hugely popular. This week, Kate is torn between keeping a secret and letting it go, while Mallory gets surprised. Summer may be ended with school starting this week, but the drama is only getting more intense as a result of Jeanette and Kate’s lie.
Mike Tyson: The Knockout (ABC, 8:00 pm) — Part 2 of this film delves into Tyson’s rape conviction in 1992, which sparked a national discourse about heroes who fall and victims.
Mental Samurai (FOX 9:00 pm) — Is Rob Lowe on every show now? Not quite, but Season 2 continues with Mr. Handsome and company revisiting memorable scenes of episodes past.
Superman & Lois (CW, 9:00 pm) — Clark notices that Lois is approaching a breaking point, so he encourages her to seek help, and Jonathan’s also in a dangerous situation.
Mr. Inbetween (FX, 10:00 & 10:30 pm) — This season, Ray’s life is changing, and Brittany is getting closer to figuring out who he is and what he does, which is run a hitman business while adhering to his own rigorous ethical code and balancing his family life. Meanwhile, severing ties with Freddy complicates matters when Ray’s suffering is exacerbated by a crime leader. This week, the episode description reads, “You can’t make anybody stay but you can sure as hell make ’em go,” which sounds like a heck of a (mysterious) good time.

In case you missed these streaming picks:
Cruella (Disney movie on Disney+) — Cruella de Vil’s origin story is now being told. Even if you don’t think she needs one, no one can deny that Emma Stone is the actress that could make this role a blast. Granted, the film starts slowly (it’s nearly two hours long) with a lengthy childhood period that doesn’t reveal anything about why she turned villain and murdered puppies. It does, however, pick up speed, with plenty of mayhem and a cackling Emma dangling from a truck in a billowing gown. Fashion isn’t always good! In addition, the soundtrack takes on a life of its own.
Plan B (Hulu film) — This narrative will strike a chord with countless women who find themselves driving from drugstore to pharmacy in the Midwest. That’s exactly what occurs in this film after a disastrous sexual encounter leads a high school student (Kuhoo Verma) and her best friend (Victoria Moroles) on a frantic search for Plan B in America’s heartland with the clock ticking. It’s a teen sex comedy with a Cobra Kai and Harold & Kumar twist, and it’ll be released by Cobra Kai and Harold & Kumar producers.
