Evelyn Lozada has been a main cast member for the most of the time the show has been on the air, however that era has now ended. Evelyn Lozada said in an exclusive interview with E”Daily !’s Pop” that “Basketball Wives” is now a thing of the past, as she publicly announced her resignation after nine seasons on the show.
Evelyn announced her departure from the show by saying, “I am no longer going to do “Basketball Wives.” I believe it is time for me to broaden my horizons and it has been a difficult decision because I can do it with my eyes closed. But it’s so difficult, and it takes a lot of energy, which isn’t the most positive.” “Sometimes you have to say ‘Alright, I gotta walk away from this’ – I have to close the door,” she concluded. So, over the past several seasons, I’ve been feeling this way. We’d have scenes in Miami, and I’d walk away regardless of what transpired in those sequences.
But now I have a conscious of what I say and what I do and what my kids are going to see. I walk away from it feeling heavy,” she said.Evelyn previously left the show, and later filmed her own show on the OWN Network from 2015-2016, before making her return back to “Basketball Wives,” in 2017.
