The most recent guest to appear on “Red Table Talk” was Paris Jackson. This episode, however, was unique in that Willow Smith curated the entire program as the two friends had a profound debate on the red couch. During the episode, Paris was an open book, and while discussing their social anxiety in the aftermath of the epidemic, she confessed that her social anxiety has been difficult to manage because she suffers from aural hallucinations caused by camera clicks. She claims it’s as a result of her lifelong exposure to paparazzi photography.
“I’ll hear something that sounds like a trash bag rustling, and I’ll cringe and panic,” she explained. “I guess it’s simply ordinary PTSD,” she continued. “A lot of individuals do feel regret when they try to attempt suicide, like a last-minute remorse,” Paris said of her previous suicide attempts. There were times when I did and times when I didn’t, and I was disappointed that it didn’t work. But, some years later, I can say that I’m glad it didn’t, because things have improved.
”She credits not knowing who was at the time, pressure, people telling her to kill herself, and depression as the factors that have led to her attempting to take her life in the past.Nonetheless, she seems to now be in a more positive space within her life. She and Willow spoke about her budding music career, her current relationship with her mother Debbie Rowe, and other things that currently contribute to her happiness.
