Rexx Life Raj recently stated that he wasn’t able to compose much new music during the epidemic, but what he has released since then has been fantastic. Of course, there were songs like “Tesla In A Pandemic,” which celebrated his recent financial successes, as well as the California Poppy 2 EP, which built on the success of its predecessor, and the Untitled EP, which had meditative tunes that helped him find calm in turbulent times. He’s back to boasting today, with the swaggering yet thoughtful “Lockheed Martin.”
“Lockheed Martin,” which comes with a video of Raj rapping at the port, portrays Raj as a wise old man as well as a hedonistic money-making machine, swinging from bars about turning “a square b*tch into something off of Pornhub” to criticizing “grown males infatuated with gangsta rappers.” He displays his muscles while also advocating budgetary responsibility, rapping, “If I can’t cop it three times, then I’m not coppin’.” Then he lays out his future plans, which include investments, farming, and therapy, as well as keeping it real and making sure his friends and family are taken care of and all of his aspirations are realized, “shooting for the stars like I’m Lockheed Martin.”
