End Of An Era, Iggy Azalea’s third album, is nearing completion. She recently debuted the Tyga-featured single “Sip It,” and now she’s back with another sneak peek, this time for the cheerful and energetic “I Am The Strip Club.” She also posted a video for the song, in which she can be seen dancing and having a good time on the road on the back of an 18-wheeler and an ATV.
“Don’t need dark rooms / I am the strip club / Don’t need red lights / I am the strip club / I perform the lap dance / I ride the pole up / I am the, the strip club,” she sings on the hook. That aligns with Azalea’s explanation of the song on Twitter in April: “The concept of the song ‘iam the strip club’ is really about the fact that YOU ARE the good time.” To be so bright, you don’t have to be in a club.”
She recently wrote on Instagram about the song, saying, “This song is incredibly significant to me — Seriously!” […] This is my art, and doing it makes me happy and gives me purpose – so I hope someone is out dancing to this song this weekend! Your encouragement means a lot to me, and I hope I can make everyone proud!”
Azalea is featured in the video with black hair and complexion that some Twitter users believe was purposefully made to appear darker than her true skin tone. In response to a comment on her hair after the video was published, Azalea said that she would be ditching the black wig.
“I wanted to give a big Thankyou to @yeah thas me for bringing my song to life with his choreography as well as to all the dancers in this video,” Azalea said. You guys took the video to a whole new level! I’d also like to express my gratitude to @smashstunts for assembling such a talented collection of female riders for this video! It blew my mind to see you guys maneuver those bikes with Eaze on those dark, twisting roads. You gals are incredible!”
