Bebe Rexha’s latest album Better Mistakes was only published a few months ago, but that hasn’t stopped her from releasing new singles, videos, and collaborations. She’s also spoken up about her own experience with mental illness as part of the “Getting Better Together” initiative to promote mental health awareness. The diva went serious with the “Chain My Heart” lyrics on her recent collaboration with Topic, and she’s now created a video that’s fairly literal.
Bebe flexes and dances in a chain-link bodysuit amid a slew of other identically clothed dancers while Topic observes from the shadows. Bebe is certainly the center of the show here, but she’s using slightly more electronic production than she did on her previous album, a nod to Topic’s work and perhaps additional indication that branching out into other genres — like metal? — isn’t a bad idea. Bebe’s voice is so adaptable that it can be used in any type of production, and she can even make a chained bodysuit look comfy.
Bebe works well with other artists, as evidenced by her recent duets with Travis Barker on “Break My Heart Myself,” so expect even more of that in the future.
