Fivio Foreign, a Brooklyn native, nearly had his promising career wrecked last spring when he was detained in New Jersey for fleeing police officers with an unregistered pistol. Fivio was arrested and charged with weapons possession, having a defaced firearm, and resisting arrest at the Bergen County Jail. He didn’t seem to be able to get bond until lately, as he just tweeted yesterday, “Free,” with an opened padlock emoji.
Fivio hinted at his intentions for the summer now that he’s free, in addition to celebrating his release. He added, “Summer Jam?” with a pair of questioning eyes and a flame emoji. If he does join the program of the annual New York event in August, he’ll be joining a stacked lineup that includes Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel, Saweetie, Moneybagg Yo, Migos, Meek Mill, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, who were all just released. Many more drill-related musicians, such as Dusty Locane, Sheff G, and Sleepy Hallow, will also be performing.
Fivio may have to work a little harder this year to recoup his momentum, but he’s already established a solid foundation with solo tunes like “Self Made” and his guest appearance with Polo G in Lil Tjay’s “Headshot” video.
