Ski Mask The Slump, a rapper from Florida, God’s new video for “Dr. Suess” continues the deadly revenge story from his Sin City-themed “Admit It” video, with martial-arts shenanigans, shootouts galore, and a satisfying conclusion. He uses the CGI coloring techniques from the Sin City flicks, like he did in the previous video, resulting in some genuinely spectacular visuals, including a scene inspired by Marv’s contrast bandages that uses Ski Mask’s tattoos and grill.
Ski Mask’s latest effort, Sin City The Mixtape, was released in late June, over three years after his debut album Stokeley. Despite scant advertising, it became his second-highest charting release after Stokeley, peaking at No. 39 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. That means that the hyped-up rapper, who only released one single in 2020, “Burn The Hoods,” is gaining traction. He also collaborated with Cordae on DJ Scheme’s “Soda,” which helped to boost his popularity.
After announcing the release date for Sin City The Mixtape, Ski Mask promised his fans that the next album wouldn’t take nearly as long. We’ll see if he can stick to that promise and maintain the momentum he’s built.
