The Weeknd and Kanye West have a history together: West produced “Tell Your Friends” from The Weeknd’s 2005 album Beauty Behind The Madness, and The Weeknd sung on “FML” from West’s The Life Of Pablo. Now, it appears that the two are working on something new.
West, who is now working on Donda, came to Instagram yesterday to share a screenshot of his recent phone calls. A handful of late-night calls to a contact branded “ABEL WEEKEND,” which is almost probably The Weeknd, were among them.
This comes after The Weeknd stated that he would like to collaborate with West again, saying, “I’d love to work with Kanye again.” Especially when it comes to production.” He also expressed praise for Tyler The Creator, adding, “I got mad love for Tyler The Creator right now, and what he’s doing.” Tyler is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I recall him attending one of my performances, which I believe was a festival performance. And he was very vocal about how ‘Starboy’ was his favorite song at the time. You can tell he’s waiting for the song. I could see him. As soon as the song happened, he’s like, ‘All right, cool. Thanks.’ And he just peaced out. It was pretty funny. But he’s somebody that I really admire, because he wears his feelings on his sleeve.”
