Meghan McCain’s departure from The View was announced on July 1 with some ambiguous wording, as the conservative commentator stated that she would not be returning for another season and that her final day would be at “the end of the month,” when the show goes on hiatus. But, as with everything Meghan, the timeline wasn’t fully true. McCain is still on the radio after the Fourth of July has passed. This is due to the fact that her last day is August 6.
According to The Arizona Republic, one of her home state’s most influential newspapers, the daytime talk show has a special edition scheduled for McCain’s final day, which should be interesting given that she’s been consistently shaded by Whoopi Goldberg over the past week. AZ Central reports:
On Friday, August 6, she will co-host her final program. Cindy McCain, a frequent guest on “The View,” is one of the scheduled guests.
McCain announced her departure from the Senate at the start of July. After quitting the show, she hopes to produce a Lifetime movie starring Heather Locklear called “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff.”
McCain’s departure will occur at an unexpected point in The View’s history. While her co-stars have made it apparent that they don’t care for McCain’s habit for veering off on off-topic rants that usually make her the center of attention, the outspoken Republican makes The View trend on social media on a nearly daily basis. McCain made Mary Trump a Twitter trend this week after the conservative co-host quit on an interview with the former president’s niece, sparking a Twitter spat between the two.
As for her replacement, The View is reportedly taking it slow. However, original cast member Debbie Matenopoulos has been publicly angling to fill McCain’s seat.
