Alex Jones has already stated that his conspiracy-addled InfoWars was involved in the January 6th storming of the US Capitol, and a member of InfoWars was charged this week for their role.
Jones was in Washington in January with a group of conspiracy theorists, claiming to have led a mob to the Capitol. Owen Shroyer, another InfoWars presenter, was one of them, and he was charged this week for his acts there. On the show, Shroyer revealed that he had a warrant out for his arrest.
“There’s a lot of questions, some I have answers to, some I don’t,” he said. “I plan on declaring innocence of these charges because I am.”
According to the Associated Press, Shroyer will face charges of disorderly conduct and entering a restricted area of the Capitol.
Authorities say video shows Shroyer marching to the Capitol from the Ellipse shortly before the building was breached, telling the crowd “today we march for the Capitol because on this historic January 6, 2021, we have to let our Congressmen and women know, and we have to let Mike Pence know, they stole the election, we know they stole it, and we aren’t going to accept it!”
…
Shroyer was vociferous in the days leading up to Jan. 6 about stopping the Electoral College vote from being certified, according to authorities. He appeared at Freedom Plaza the day before the violence, declaring, “Americans are ready to battle.” We’re not sure what it will look like, but if we can’t stop this fraudulent election from being certified, we’ll be the next revolution in a few weeks! According to the court documents, “We are going to restore and save the republic!”
Shroyer is the second InfoWars employee to face charges as a result of the January 6 insurgency attempt, according to the Associated Press. A video editor was also arrested earlier this year.
