Drake shared two photographs of the party he threw for little Adonis – whose mother is Sophie Brussaux – on his Instagram account over the weekend, giving fans a preview of the festivities.
Drake and Adonis appeared in front of a car-themed birthday display, which included a sign that said, “Adonis races into 4,” in the first photo. “[heart emoji] TEACHA [heart emoji] MORE LIFE KID (sic)” he captioned the photo.
Drake, 34, chuckled as he carried his son as the toddler ran towards the camera like a superhero in a second post, which he captioned with a running emoji. On his Instagram Story, Adonis also shared a brief video of him leading a big Bugs Bunny character through a food court, dressed in a LeBron James jersey like in ‘Space Jam 2,’ before handing the costumed creature a container of popcorn to munch.
Drake announced the birth of his son in June 2018, and he earlier stated that disclosing his child was “freeing.” “Those photographs were posted by me,” he explained. It worked out perfectly for me. It felt fantastic to simply share that with the rest of the world, and I just felt like… It wasn’t even something I discussed with anyone or had planned. I woke up one morning and thought to myself, “You know what? This is simply something I’d like to do. I want to be able to take my son somewhere and share memories with him. I don’t want to feel like I’m obligated to make everyone live under this blanket just because I choose to be a “famous.” So all I wanted to do was get rid of it.”
