We express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ronnie Wilson. According to TMZ, Ronnie’s wife Linda Boulware-Wilson confirmed his death and said that he passed away earlier Tuesday at their home in Tulsa, OK. Ronnie had a stroke last week and ended up in a semi-coma from which he never awoke.
Ronnie, along with his brothers Charlie and Robert, formed the legendary Gap Band in 1974 and gave us an endless amount of hits like “Outstanding,” “Yearning For Your Love,” “Early in the Morning,” and many others.Linda also shared the news of Ronnie’s passing on Facebook, saying, “The love of my life was called home this morning, at 10:01 am.”
While we grieve his death, please continue to pray for the Wilson, Boulware, and Collins families. From boyhood till his early seventies, Ronnie Wilson was a talent at composing, producing, and playing the flugelhorn, trumpet, keyboards, and singing music.
