Summer Walker has a slew of awards and world-record-breaking achievements to her credit in her brief career. With her debut album, Over It, released in 2019, the singer has already charted in the top five on the Billboard 200. That album also set a new record for the most-streamed album by a female R&B singer, surpassing Beyonce’s Lemonade. Summer’s popularity continued with the publication of her sophomore album, Still Over It, earlier this month. The album debuted at No. 1 in 40 markets worldwide, making it Apple Music’s biggest album launch ever and the platform’s biggest R&B album debut ever. More than a week after its release, Still Over It continues to break records for Summer.
On November 20, 2021, Still Over It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list. The album sold 166,000 album units in its first week, achieving its goal. This figure represents 153,000 streaming equivalent album units, or 201.1 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs. A total of 12,000 albums were sold as a result of the operation. Summer becomes the first female R&B singer to have a No. 1 album in almost five years, with Solange’s A Seat At The Table, as well as having the biggest week for a female R&B singer since Beyonce’s Lemonade.
Elsewhere, Still Over It earns the biggest first week for an R&B album released in 2021, the largest streaming week ever an R&B album released by a woman, and the fourth-biggest debut by a woman in 2021.
