Jay-Z surpasses Michael Jackson as the most Grammy-nominated artist in history.
When the nominees for the 2022 Grammy Awards were unveiled on Tuesday, it was revealed that Jay-Z had surpassed Prince as the most-nominated artist in Grammy history, with three nominations in 2022 bringing his total to 83!

At the age of 80, the megastar was previously tied with famed producer/composer Quincy Jones. With 81 nominations, Sir Paul McCartney is currently the second most nominated artist of all time.
Jay Z, actual name Shawn Carter, is eligible for a Grammy in 2022 for guest performances with Kanye West (whose “Donda” album is vying for Album of the Year) and the late DMX. He earned his first Grammy in 1999. Throughout his career, he has amassed a total of 23 victories.
Beyonce, his wife, made Grammy history earlier this year by becoming the most-nominated woman and the most-awarded artist in the event’s history.
This year’s Grammy nominees include rapper Saweetie, NBA Young, and singer Eric Bellinger, who is nominated for the first time. This year’s front-runners are Doja Cat, H.E.R, and Jon Batiste.
On January 31, 2022, the Grammy Awards will be place in downtown Los Angeles.
