Dave Davies of The Kinks Speaks Out On Whether Women Should Go ‘Au Naturel‘ Down There
Dave Davies, the guitarist, and vocalist for the Kinks, had an idea to clear his mind on a topic that was, to say the least, intriguing.
Davies gave his perspective on women’s hygiene, and despite the fact that the topic wasn’t particularly popular at the time, he went right in and kept things fully honest. He tweeted, “I’m not sure if this is a suitable tweet, but several of the models in the sixties shaved their minges.” “I’ve always thought that was a turnoff, and I’ve always preferred ladies to appear ‘au naturel.'”
Davies somewhat stuck to his opinion and the randomness of it all after some fans responded to his initial tweet. When one person asked, “Did you regret tweeting about this or not yet ? Haha,” Davies replied, “I don’t know.” He also cleared up a mistake in the original post, writing, “It was a typo I meant to say fringes.”
Davies’ statement comes as speculations of a Kinks reunion continue to circulate. Dave Davies, his older brother Ray Davies, who is the lead vocalist and principal lyricist, and drummer Mick Avory are the current members of the band. Dave mentioned a probable Kinks reunion in a 2018 interview with Uproxx. He explained, “We’ve been talking about doing some stuff.” “We’ve collaborated on a couple songs, and he’s got some material he’d like to revisit and re-record or whatever.”
Earlier this year, during an interview with the Washington Post, Dave once again discussed the possibility of a reunion. “We’ve been talking about it,” he said. “I mean there’s a lot of material and, you know, it could still happen.”
