Since Bobby Shmurda’s release from prison, supporters have hoped that he will release a project to honor his re-entry into society. Shmurda has only released two singles in the two months since, “No Time For Sleep Freestyle” and “Splash,” as well as “Tata (Remix),” a duet with Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, and Eladio Carrion. For those who have been wondering why there hasn’t been any new music from Shmurda, the rapper hinted at the problem in an Instagram post that he immediately deleted moments later.
“I haven’t had control of my music since I was 19 years old, and I just turned 27. I honestly don’t know when shit will drop, so don’t ask me shit, ask the MF’s because they want to control everything!!!!!!! ” read a photograph he posted to Instagram. Shmurda is now signed to Epic Records and managed by Roc Nation, therefore his problems are most likely with one or both of the labels.
Shmurda made the assertion after outlining cooperation that he intends to bring to fruition in the near future. In a tweet, he said, “You know what the world needs.” “#BobbyShmurda and #Adele are collaborating on a Strip Club Anthem.”
