Jim Jordan lacks the notoriety of his good friend Matt Gaetz, the Butt-head to Beavis’ Beavis. But he makes an effort. The Trumpist congressman and nasal-voiced oddo is occasionally content to send out dunkable tweets. At times, he’s just a bother at congressional hearings. He gets a little more ambitious every now and then, like when he went on Newsmax over the weekend and linked the “extreme left” to Nazis and slavery.
Jordan told host Seb Gorka, “Every third generation in this country has had to do something huge.” “Think about the Founders and what they did when they stated why we were going to be an independent country, and what they had to overcome, the world’s best military.” They were successful.
“Three generations later, Lincoln and the Americans held the country together and abolished slavery,” Jordan concluded. “Three generations later, the greatest generation fought imperial Japan and Nazi Germany, the evils that those two countries symbolized.”
Jordan then created a tenuous link between individuals being treated as property, a deadly authoritarian dictatorship, and…people protesting systemic racism.
“Three generations later, we’re under attack from the radical left,” Jordan lamented. “Like earlier generations of Americans, we must take action and do our share.” “I believe we’re up to the challenge.”
It was unhinged even for Jordan, who back on October was widely mocked for saying that all vaccines, even ones for long-conquered diseases like polio, should be banned.
