A video of Stevie J and his son Stevie J Jr. being thrown from a Delta Air Lines trip from Los Angeles to Atlanta on Friday, Dec. 10 went viral a few days ago.
He met with TMZ in Los Angeles on Monday to explain his side of the story about being refused boarding.
“My kid and I went to board the plane, and it’s like we had the drink, and we know we can’t board with the drink.” So he’s like, ‘Yo, throw the drinks in the trash.’ I’m like, ‘Nah, we’re going to drink the drinks,'” he added, smiling as he retold the scenario.
The airline staff told the record producer and his son to toss the beverages away once more, but he stated he would rather drink the booze and then throw the cup away. He claimed they did just that — and “didn’t even finish the drink” — when ten individuals came “racing up” on his kid as they walked down the jetway.
They informed Stevie that they needed to speak with him and his son as soon as they got off the plane. So they got off, and there were like “10, 15 cops outside,” according to him. The “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” actor described the scenario as a “Black and white thing,” claiming that he “never had a problem like that ever in my life,” and that the officers “wouldn’t have done this to a white person.”
Stevie told the TMZ reporter that while he has not received a direct call from Delta, his publicist has. However, he stated that he is unsure of the details because the contact occurred shortly before his TMZ interview. He also claimed that, despite his threats to involve lawyers, he isn’t sure what their next moves will be, adding, “We hope they come to the table and do something for us before we have to get into all that.”
The tequila in question was Casamigos, which Stevie was adamant on keeping.
