After making a bold proclamation during a conversation on Twitter Spaces earlier this week, Jay-Z left the rap world to dispute between themselves. “Ain’t nobody that can stand on that stage with me,” Jay responded in answer to Alicia Keys’ query regarding Verzuz, who was also a part of the Twitter Spaces discussion. “I’m not going to lie to you, no disrespect.” Everyone is amazing; they’ve accomplished their goals. No one can stand beside me on that platform. Fans of the rapper later fought on Twitter with fans of other big-name acts like Ye, Lil Wayne, and Drake, who thought their favorite artist was deserving of a showdown with Jay-Z.
Future was another rapper who was mentioned by a few people. Big Bank TDE, a podcaster and Atlanta personality, came to Instagram to suggest that Atlanta locals believe Future would not only hold his own against Jay-Z, but would even beat him in a Verzuz fight. “I Promise You, Errbody from Atlanta Thinks Pluto Can Beat Hov In A Verzuz,” he wrote. Future reposted the remark on his own Instagram page moments after it was uploaded on Big Bank’s Instagram Story, leading many to believe he agreed with the message.
Future’s remix comes after he collaborated with Lil Baby on Rvssian’s “M&M” for a pair of verses.
