The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Joanna Newsom, The Flaming Lips, Death Cab For Cutie, and Grimes have all performed early in their careers at the San Francisco festival Noise Pop for more than 20 years. Noise Pop returns in 2022 for its 29th year as a festival, with headliners Azealia Banks, Jeff Tweedy, and Dorian Electra joining them on stage.
Earlier this month, Noise Pop announced their complete 2022 lineup. The festival has announced artists such as Alex G, The Drums, King Woman, The Microphones, Kamaal Williams, Titus Andronicus, Arooj Aftab, Sega Bodega, Hand Habits, Moor Mother, Tomberlin, Ian Sweet, Topaz Jones, Uffie, Rituals Of Mine (DJ Set), Man On Man, and many others in addition to the previously mentioned headliners.
A handful of the artists will deliver a very exceptional performance in addition to bringing local and national performers to the stage. A hometown event for The Microphones will be held for the first time in 20 years, The Drums will perform the entirety of their 2011 classic album Portamento, and Titus Andronicus will commemorate the (belated) 10-year anniversary of their album The Monitor, according to the band’s website.
