Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, testified in court on Tuesday that the Hollywood actor allegedly penetrated her with a bottle while holding her captive for three days during a trip to Australia in 2015.
The startling claim was made in a Virginia courtroom, where Johnny and Amber are currently facing a $100 million defamation lawsuit. Johnny claimed that an op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018 about being a domestic abuse survivor clearly alluded to the idea that he was violent in their marriage, and he sued her for $50 million.
Amber countersued for $100 million, claiming that she never referred to the actor by name. Lawyers for the Aquaman star remembered an alleged event in which Johnny was accused of holding Amber hostage for three days, tossing liquor bottles at her before placing one within her private area during their most recent court appearance.
Amber’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, told Mirror, “He has her pushed up against the bar.” “He’s thrown a lot of bottles at her.” On the broken bottles, he has dragged her across the floor.
“He has punched her. He has kicked her. He has told her he’s going to fu**ing kill her, and he fu**ing hates her. He’s pounding at her, pounding at her. And then, he penetrates her with a liquor bottle.”
While Elaine continued to go over the major claims from 2015, Johnny began to shake his head, as if saying “no.”
Since their divorce in 2017, the father-of-two has vehemently refuted any allegations of domestic abuse. Despite the fact that the former couple had only been married for 17 months, Amber said in court records that their relationship was chaotic and terrifying.
A statement has since been released following the latest claim made against Johnny, with a spokesperson saying, “These fictitious claims were never made at the onset of Amber’s allegations in 2016, and only advantageously surfaced years later once she was sued for defamation after noting in her op-ed that she was a victim of ‘sexual violence.’
“Words are key in a defamation case and conveniently, this allegation only came after that. This follows a pattern of her elaborate, erroneous claims which have continued to change and evolve over time for the purpose of Hollywood shock value of which Amber has mastered and used to exploit a serious social movement.”
Another lawyer on Amber’s legal team, Benjamin Rottenborn, said that the Pirates of the Caribbean star tried to “destroy” his ex-Hollywood wife’s career when their marriage soured and the couple was set for divorce.
“Amber Heard never intended to reveal who Johnny Depp was to the world,” Benjamin says, “but that is going to come out.”
“He was an obsessive ex-husband hellbent on vengeance…as his career was on the decline and hers was on the rise.”
In response, Johnny’s attorneys said that the Texas native had made a series of false charges against their client, and that the actor was ready to provide a once-in-a-lifetime performance to depict Johnny as a bad guy during the court hearings.
