Truth be told, anyone who watches college basketball should know that there is no in-between with being a UNC or Duke fan. The rivalry between the two schools is tremendous. Some would call it the “Ohio State and Michigan” of basketball.

The UNC Tarheels took on the Duke Blue Devils on Wednesday at Chapel Hill at 9 p.m. The Blue Devils led early into the game, but the Tarheels kept up by only being down two points up until the half, where they led the game against the Blue Devils 43-40. The second half started with the Tarheels leading the Blue Devils.

Up until the last two seconds of the game, with a score of 84-82 Tarheels, the teams were neck-and-neck. Duke freshman, Austin Rivers scored a 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded making the Tarheel fans watching in the stands completely silent as the Blue Devils piled on top of Rivers for a celebration of beating Carolina by one point. The final score 85-84 Duke. Although Duke beat UNC at their home, the Tarheels may give the Blue Devils “a taste of their own medicine” when the rivalry plays again on March 3 at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium.
