It appears Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may not be reprising his role in Fast and Furious 9 because of a “fundamental difference” with co-star Vin Diesel.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, the semi-retired WWE superstar offered some insight on his feud with Diesel, explaining that the spat between the two led to production changes on the set of Fate of the Furious.
“That is correct. We were not in any scenes together,” Johnson told Rolling Stone, before revealing what took place on the movie set. “Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer,” Johnson said. “And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.”
Back In 2016, Johnson vented his frustrations with some of his male co-stars on Instagram. After stating his female co-stars were a pleasure to work with, Johnson claimed unnamed male co-stars weren’t the greatest on set. “My male co-workers, however, are a different story.” Johnson wrote. “Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a**es.”
