I’m curious to hear what our readers think. Was today’s bombing an act to show that al-Qaida still has a great presence and power in Iraq or is it a justifies to the means of adding more troops and extending their duties?
Today’s bombing comes after the announcement of extending the duty of US troops and prior announcements of sending more. The Bush administration has been scrutinized for not having an exit strategy. I can hear President Bush say, “today attack only strengthen my stand on increasing troops.” At the same time Iraq has been able to convert to a democratic country and several members of al-Qaida have been captured over the past years. Was this a measure to show they still have power? How many members do they have that are willing to take their own lives?
