Trey Songz covers this month’s issue of the VMAN magazine. The 267 year old singer talks about his music career, his Angel with Hearts foundation and bullying in schools.
Supermodel Selita Ebanks conducted the interview and the black and white cover shoot was done by Bruce Weber. Trey goes shirtless for the shoot, rocking an Audemars Piguet watch and a Rafaelo & Co. necklace.
Trey explained that he has progressed in music moving from “Gotta Make It to ‘Top of the World’ and from ‘I Invented Sex’ to Sex Ain’t Better than Love.” He added that his new album reflects where he is going as a person and what he has been through. He spoke about Angel With Hearts, a foundation he started to unite his fans and people who are from communities similar to the one he grew up in. He hopes to set up community centers through the foundation, where kids can go to study after school.
Trey addressed the growing rate of cyber bullying saying that, “Bullying is childish, and a lot of kids get stuck in situations where obviously something is wrong at home, so it’s kind of a release for them. It’s a comfort blanket and it’s affecting so many people as well as themselves. It’s important to speak not only to the people being bullied but to the bullies as well.”
Trey is set to begin his Anticipation Tour on the 9th of February in Cleveland.
