June 26th will go down as a dark day in the life of one of the league’s most promising young talents. New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was arrested in the morning, released from the Patriots shortly afterwards, and was charged with murder in the afternoon. Hernandez has been in the headlines for the last week and a half due to the murder of Odin Lloyd. During his arraignment, Hernandez was charged with the first-degree murder of Lloyd, along with five gun-related charges.
According to family of the victim, Hernandez and Lloyd were friends and were together on the last night of Lloyd’s life. It is still unclear exactly what happened that night; as all that is known now is that Lloyd was shot multiple times in the back and chest on the morning of June 17th.
Hernandez is being held without bail.
