According to reports, Anita Baker had an arrest warrant issued for her by the Detroit police department after the Grammy winning singer failed to show up yesterday for a hearing during a legal battle involving the singer and a paint and decorating company.
The Ray Smith Painting and Decorating company has sued Baker with claims that she owes the company $15,000.
The company allegedly painted the inside of her giant Grosse Pointe home and she hasn’t paid anything yet.
Surprisingly, it seems as if Miss Baker found about her arrest warrant at the same time as the rest of the world.
Baker, who is currently “out of town,” according to her lawyer, has now revealed she was shocked to find out about the drama on TV.
She tweeted: “Whattt??!! … sittin’ in the kitchen watching this on TV. Big time crazy. Atty on his way to TV Station. Devil sho is busy.”

Baker’s lawyer, Jamal Hamood, has since insisted the 56-year-old was unaware of the legal action. He plans to file a motion to dismiss the warrant.
