The Journals of the author best known for “The Color Purple”, which won a Pulitzer Prize will be printed in 2017 according to reports.
The Journals entitled Gathering Blossoms Under Fire has essays from Walker that reflect on her life which showcase her rise to international fame from living in poverty in Georgia.
Alice Walker apparently had kept a diary while writing novels, stories, poems and essays as it has been the case with most authors.
Simon & Schuster imprint 37 Ink will publish a selection of the private chronicles in 2017 and they will be edited by Valerie Boyd the writer of the biography of Zora Neale Hurston according to reports.
Zora Neale Hurston is reportedly one of Alice Walker’s Idols.
