What artist(s) out now, if you were to compare yourself to someone, would you compare yourself to? Who would you want to work with?
SL: I’m little bits and pieces with all of my inspirations! I can’t say that I am fully into one artist out there right now for there are so many! The greats to me include: Bob Marley, Janis Joplin, Prince, Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Tupac, Rihanna and more and create my own from there. I WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH KENDRICK LAMAR. I feel like we can create something so powerful together the world would shake.
IH: With the band, we do not compare, we give respect where it is due but we are truly a sound of our own. Our musical influences serve as inspirations but there can only be one QUANTUM SPLIT. We pride ourselves with creating a sound of our own, one that listeners try to place but never can figure out. Just rock with us and TURN UP…trust that you will love what you hear and see!
What’s your favorite thing about being an artist?
SL: That moment on stage, that rush goes from my fingers to my toes. It is a complete outer body experience. I become THE BADDEST WARRIOR that has ever existed, damn near blacks out that it’s hard to reenact what happened the next day. I usually don’t remember until I see the footage! I become the woman telling the world that life is where you accomplish your dreams and express yourself unapologetically. That experience is the best thing about being an artist and doing so with my band members.
AA: My favorite thing about being an artist is touring, performing, traveling to places where I have never been before. I like having the opportunity to impact people with our original music and the experience of living the “Rock Star” life.
AR: Being an artist puts you in the most vulnerable and most empowering position at the same time. We open our hearts to the audience and expose what is inside and in doing so we put ourselves in danger. Our shows are friggin’ dynamic. Not overblown theatrics but BOY DO WE TAKE RISKS! These are the moments when our art is collaborative. Looking at each other, being present in our positions, and having that ALL “FOUR” ONE, and ONE “FOUR” ALL mentality. When ones goes up, we all go up. If one takes a shirt off, shit we all do it…well except Soleil, but she is one not to lose focus in her own way on LOL. At that moment, we are to either be consumed by fear, or for a moment we wrap the audience in our world. The feeling of exhilaration we get is unparalleled.
IH: Performing the shit out of a show, then eating pizza afterwards. FACTS.
What are your future plans? What are you currently working on?
SL: Our mission is to spread the message of our music and wake people the HELL UP! We intend to create a blueprint to not only introduce feel good music but a sound that WILL change the airwaves. Bigger Stadiums! Commercials! International Touring!…are all in our future. We want to be the creators of a new genre of Hip Hop/Soul Rock. A blend the encompasses old school and new school sounds for everyone to relate to. Every race, all ethnicities, young or older can be a part of the Quantum Split Squad! I know it’s a matter of time before it’s the biggest thing to have ever existed since Rolling Stone. We are currently working on the completion of our first album “Subliminal Manipulation.” No music has been released yet and we intend to gravitate fans through our live performances.
AA: We are relentless in what we do! Unapologetic in who we are and what we are about to become! As the longest standing member before Soleil’s inception of the Quantum Split, I have seen it’s transitions. I have seen members departure and new members find their home with us. The four of us (Soleil, Adrian, Ivan, and Myself) are home now. So close, that often people assume we are related. Perhaps not by blood but by the love of what we do together runs in our veins collectively. The future plans is to continue the path that we have already created. Through our incredible management and creative team, we have been able to surpass so many expectations as an unsigned band. Multi-citi tours, a growing social platform, and opportunities that are making us stronger in our craft.
What’s next for us?…WORLD DOMINATION, QUANTUM SPLIT STYLE!
