Taylor Swift is known for calling out ex-boyfriends in her songs for their alleged dirty deeds. Charlie Puth’s “Attention” is also allegedly about his ex-girlfriend Bella Thorne. Now, Seanloui is exposing his ex-girlfriend for cheating on him in his track. “Tell Me.”
“I found out the love of my life for 4 years, cheated on me by pretending to hang out with a famous person who had mutual friends,” said Seanloui in a press statement. “This song is letting her know that I know she cheated.” Yikes.
The track certainly does just that as Seanloui sings about being betrayed. “You said you’re mine / now I know that your words mean nothing,” sings the 20-year-old crooner. Although it seemed like Seanloui is much more of a hopeless romantic than the aforementioned pop star as he asks for her to “tell me you love me,” further into the song we learn that it’s only so he can get his revenge by telling her he knows that she cheated on him. At the end, there’s a haunting recording of a woman asking “Why would I lie to you?”
The track comes off of Seanloui’s forthcoming eponymous project.
