Taylor Swift is donating $1 million in tornado relief to her home state. Following two deadly tornadoes that ripped through Tennessee, killing at least 25 people.
The Pop-Country singer’s organization of choice is the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund, according to Swift’s Publicist. The organization allocates resources and support to affected communities as well as nonprofits focused on helping survivors.
Along with encouraging her fans to help out and donate however they can, she addressed her deed by writing, “Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me.”
A fellow native Nashville singer of Swift, Chris Young, and country singer Johnny Van Zant has donated, while and the Tennessee Titans matched her $1M donation.
Furthermore, the two tornadoes, one that hit on March 5 with 175 mph winds, have caused at least 25 fatalities, with 3 missing persons and over 45 collapsed buildings across Nashville and neighboring cities.
