Earlier than expected, currently incarcerated Tekashi 6ix9ine is being released from prison. According to new reports, with an August release date, he is said to be officially leaving prison this summer.
Lance Lazzaro, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s legal representative, hopefully, predicted back in December that his client would be finished completing his 24-month sentence around late July or early August—and as it has now been revealed, he was right.
On August 2, 2020, Daniel Hernandez (Tekashi 6ix9ine) will be released, according to the Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator. This public record was also backed up from the Bureau of Prisons’ Public Affairs department, who stated “[W]e can confirm, Inmate Hernandez has a projected release date of August 2, 2020.”
As you’ll recall, Tekashi 6ix9ine was sentenced back in December 2019 and was initially facing 47 years to life in prison for a number of crimes related to being a member of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods street gang.
However, once he agreed to be a cooperating witness for the prosecutors in the case, he testified against two of his former gang members who went to trial. His highly publicized sentencing hearing finally arrived months later and he was given only 24 months as a reward for helping courtesy of his testimony in court.
6ix9ine had already served 13 months while awaiting sentencing and, as with many federal prisoners, only has to serve 85% of his remaining time.
