Carole Baskin was tricked by two British YouTube pranksters into giving her first post-Tiger King interview by stating they worked for late-night TV show host and comedian Jimmy Fallon.
The two men named Archie Manners and Josh Pieters managed to snag an interview with Joe Exotic’s rival, Carole Baskin, by pretending they were producers for ‘The Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon’. At first, Baskin and her husband, Howard, turned them down after stating they will not give any interviews due to Netflix falsely implying that Carole was involved in the disappearance and presumed death of her first husband, Don. The pair sent more emails and said they will not discuss anything related to ‘Tiger King’ and its affiliates but will focus on her sanctuary.
In the video clip, the pranksters managed to use old voice clips from Fallon’s previous interviews so it could sound like he was interviewing Baskin during the Zoom call.
The interview begins with the men asking Carole to list her favorite tigers during a soundcheck. Then Fallon’s title card begins with “Fallon” asking Baskin how she was doing and what she’s been up to.
Baskin said she had to let go of half of her staff due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting their revenue. However, the animals are being cared for by Big Cat Rescue volunteers. Currently, the sanctuary has 55 big cats which include bobcats, tigers, jaguars, etc. They even convinced her to say “Hey all you cool cats and kittens” with her infamous flower crown or a happy lei as she said.
She also sent never-before videos of the cats to be used during the interview.
