It appears that looters decided to take justice into their own hands with the passing of George Floyd.
Videos surfaced of looters taking over Target on Wednesday. In the video, you can see looters, covering their faces with masks, running in and out of the store. With broken glass and even fires showing in some videos, it appears that looters are in an uproar, after George Floyd died, while being arrested Monday.
In response to this incident, Mayor Jacob Frey tweeted, “Four responding MPD officers involved in the death of George Floyd have been terminated,” he shared. “This is the right call,” Frey added. He also held a press conference to speak about the incident involving George Floyd.
He also stated in a news conference, “When you hear someone calling for help, you are supposed to help.,” the mayor stated. He continued, “This officer failed in the most basic human sense. What happened on Chicago and 38th this, last night, is simply awful.,” he added,. “It was traumatic, and it serves as a clear reminder just how far we have to go. To the Black community, to the family, I’m so sorry.”
As of now, no arrests have been made for fatal arrest of George Floyd. The four officers have been fired, and the Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has called for the arresting officer’s arrest.
